Thanksgiving 2008

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out our blog. We have been busy busy busy getting ready for the holiday season. We have been spending our free time shopping and wrapping. Well our Thanksgiving weekend was very busy, but we had lots of fun. On Monday night we drove to Grandma and Grandpa Snyder’s for a short visit. We hung out there all day Tuesday and Wednesday, then picked up Uncle Chris from UC so he could ride to Nana and Papa Dierkens’s house. Thursday we went to Great-Grandma Dierkens’s house to visit with all of our Aunts, Uncles and cousins. We had a great time catching up, eating and of course playing a little Euchre with the fam. On Friday mommy was gone all day working on her 10-year high school reunion, while baby Jake hung out with his cousins, Nana and Papa. At night Mama and Dada went to the reunion. On Saturday we helped Nana and Papa put everything back in there newly remodeled kitchen so that it was neat and organized. We will blog again after Christmas! Talk to you then.

Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's

We just got back from a long weekend at Grandpa & Grandma's house in West Chester. The little man got so much attention that he could barely take his naps. We arrived very late on Friday night/Saturday morning. We had lunch with friends on Saturday afternoon, while the little man hung out with Grandma and Aunt Jesssica. One Saturday night we had dinner with Aunt Jessica, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jimmy, Shannon and Tracy at Smokey Bones. On Sunday we went back to the church where we got married for the first time since our wedding day. Kaitlyn Elizabeth (what a great middle name hah) Wheatley got baptized, so we got to see the whole Wheatley crew. The little man played in the nursery with Aidan. Then we went out to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa. Aunt Jessica and Uncle Dave came over after the litttle man's nap (and by nap I mean he sat up in his crib talking to himself for about an hour). Jacob and I went over to Kyle and Veronica's while the little man played with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Jessica and Uncle Dave!

Pumkinville 2008

Hey all, the summer has ended and we are enjoying the wonder fall weather of Northern Virginia. yesterday we took the little man out to Pumpkinville in Leesburg, Virginia. It is run by the Leesburg Animal Park. There were fun activites, like a petting zoo, fun slides, playgrounds, face painting, a pumpkin fort, hay maze and pumpkin painting. The Little Man loved the animals and slides. He didn't quite understand the face painting and ended up smearing it all over his face. We had a lot of fun, just check out our photos.

FYI: I try to keep up with all of my web-pages i.e. this blog, myspace and facebook. For me, it is easiest to keep up with Myspace, so if you want to see more pictures please visit my site (www.myspace.com/danasnyder) and don't forget, you need to be one of my friends to view our pictures and blogs. I am getting better at updating this blog and learning all the features, so stay tuned for more postings and gadgets! Thanks for viewing Dana

In Ohio for Audrey's 4th Birthday!

Last Friday night we packed up the car for another long weekend getaway to visit family. We were going to Uncle Jake's and Aunt Polly's house to celebrate Audrey's 4th birthday. Jacob and Jake went golfing on Saturday morning while Aunt Polly, Uncle Chris, Nana, Papa, Great Grandma Dierkens and me helped prepare for the party. There were tones of High School Musical-themed decorations, party favors, presnets, and even a cake.
On Sunday we went to church with the whole Dierkens family and had breakfast afterwards. We ditched Nana, Papa, Uncle Chris, and Great Grandma Dierkens to hit up Geagua Lake. The kids had so much fun playing in the water, while the adults took turns going down "the big kid slides". After over 4 hours of fun in the water little Jacob didn't want to leave. We all had dinner together at Rocknes, then we headed back home to Virginia. We made almost record time of about 5 hours.
Look for some pictures of our weekend trip!

July2008

Hi all,
We had a busy little month of July. We headed to Ohio on the 3rd, and spent some time with the whole Snyder family and lots of friends. We celebrated Little Jacob's first birthday on Saturday July 5th in style with tons of food, family and friends at Grandma and Grandpa Snyder's house. Baby Jacob got so many toys, and he plays with as many as he can at one time. We found out that Aunt Jessica and Uncle Dave are going to be famous on TV... more details coming from them, we can't wait. Mommy and Daddy went out for "Adult time" on Saturday with friends at Kyle and Veronica's after the birthday party, while baby Jake played in the swimming pool with Grandma and Aunt Jessica.
On Tuesday the 8th we headed up to Nana and Papa Dierkens's house while Big Jacob went on to Detriot for work. Little Jacob and Mommy visited lots of friends and family. Aunt Lindsay came to see us almost each night at Nana and Papa's... which reminds me our little man has another cousin on the way compliments of Uncle Eric and Aunt Lindsay. Of course, Mommy knew before Aunt Lindsay "let the cat out of the bag". Mommy and Daddy headed back down to CINCI to see Chris Rock Live on his new tour. They stayed in the Cincinnatian Hotel. Funny enough, Chris Rock also was staying in the same hotel. Daddy snapped a picture of Mommy with him while they were waiting for a cab! Mommy and Daddy had a great dinner at OceanAire and a wonderful 4th wedding anniversary. We had another Birthday party at Nana & Papa's house on Saturday the 12th. We were joined by Uncle Jacob, Aunt Polly, our cousins Jack and Audry, Great-Grandma Dierkens, Great Aunt Brinda, our friend Michele, Aunt Lindsay, and Uncle Eric. We sadly headed back home to Arlington on Saturday night, so that the baby could sleep in the car.
When we got back home we returned to the everyday hustle and bustle.
Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Jessica, and Uncle Dave all came to visit us on Friday the 25th and we all went out to eat at our favorite Mexican Restaurant, Uncle Julio's Rio Grande. On Saturday morning everyone headed down to Virginia Beach (except mommy, she had to work - go ahead and feel sorry for her). There was plenty of time playing on the Beach and introducing Baby Jacob to sand and water. Daddy says he is walking all over the place, going from table to couch and getting pretty brave. We'll keep you all posted about what new things Baby Jacob is getting into!!!!
On Sunday August 3rd we are going to Baby Jacob's first baseball game, when the CINCINNATI REDS take on the Nationals in DC. (We got isle seats, because we just know that the little man will not sit still the whole time). We will post pictures of us at the game in the August 2008 blog.
